GTA Online weekly update August 6 2026 Panther Statue returns

GTA Online Weekly Update August 6, 2026 — Panther Statue Returns, Free GTA$1M, Cayo Perico Bonuses

The August 6 GTA Online weekly update is live and it’s one of the stronger weeks in recent memory. The Panther Statue is back as a guaranteed primary target inside El Rubio’s compound for the first time since its last rotation, Rockstar launched an End of Summer Giveaway handing every player GTA$1,000,000 just for logging in, and Summer Heist Event week two is running with a full set of new bonuses. Here’s the complete breakdown.

Free GTA$1,000,000 — Log In Before August 12

This is the detail most players will care about first. Rockstar launched its End of Summer Giveaway today alongside the weekly update. Anyone who logs into GTA Online at any point between August 6 and August 12 will receive GTA$1,000,000 deposited to their Maze Bank account within 72 hours.

No missions required. No minimum playtime. Log in once, collect the money within three days. The delivery window means players who log in on August 12 may receive the GTA$1,000,000 after the weekly reset on August 13, but Rockstar’s 72-hour delivery has historically been reliable.

Alongside the cash, two free cosmetic items are included in the giveaway for logging in during the same window. Specific item names weren’t listed in the initial weekly update post but will appear automatically in your wardrobe.

If you’re planning to run the Kortz Center Heist and still need to purchase a Mansion, this GTA$1,000,000 gets you meaningfully closer to the Tongva Estate’s GTA$9,500,000 post-discount price. The Mansion discount running through August 5 has now expired, but the Kortz Center Heist itself remains fully playable. We covered everything about the heist setup costs and weekly resets in our full Kortz Center Heist breakdown.

Panther Statue Returns to Cayo Perico — Guaranteed This Week

The Panther Statue is back. For players who’ve been running Cayo Perico Heist rotations and missing the Panther, this week removes the RNG entirely. The Panther Statue is confirmed as the guaranteed primary target on your first completion of The Cayo Perico Heist this week, sitting inside El Rubio’s compound.

The Panther Statue is the highest-value primary target in the Cayo Perico Heist. Solo payout with the Panther Statue as primary target, with the right approach and secondary loot, regularly clears GTA$1.5 million or more per run. For players who grind Cayo Perico as their main income source, a guaranteed Panther week significantly changes the calculation on how many runs are worth doing.

The Panther Tour Jacket is this week’s exclusive completion reward. Successfully completing The Cayo Perico Heist finale this week earns the jacket automatically. It won’t be available through any other method once the weekly reset hits on August 13, so if you want it, run the heist before Thursday.

Summer Heist Event Week Two — Full Bonus List

This is the second week of the Summer Heist Event, and the bonus structure covers a different set of activities than last week’s Kortz Center Heist focus.

2X GTA$ and RP on A Superyacht Life Missions. The full mission series tied to the Galaxy Super Yacht property is paying double this week. For players who own a Yacht and haven’t run these missions recently, this is a reasonable secondary income source alongside Cayo Perico.

2X GTA$ on first Fleeca Heist Finale and first Pacific Standard Heist Finale. Both original heist finales are paying double on their first completion this week. The Fleeca Heist finale is quick and accessible at any level. Pacific Standard requires a full four-player crew but pays significantly better at double rate.

3X GTA$ and RP on Community Series Missions. User-created missions published through the Rockstar Social Club’s community system are paying triple this week. This is a generous multiplier on content that tends to be fast and accessible, and it runs across all Community Series playlists rather than specific missions.

Cayo Perico Survival waves. The Weekly Challenge this week is completing three waves in Cayo Perico Survival. Finishing all three waves earns the Noise Rockstar Logo Aged Tee and GTA$100,000. Cayo Perico Survival is accessible through the Quick Job menu and doesn’t require owning any properties.

Podium Vehicle This Week

The Diamond Casino podium vehicle for August 6 to 12 is the Declasse Drift Tampa (Sports). One free Lucky Wheel spin per day, with the vehicle awarded if the wheel lands on the car segment. The Drift Tampa is a rear-wheel-drive performance car with drift-tuning, useful for both racing and general enjoyment. If you’ve been working through the podium vehicle list and this one’s missing from your collection, this week is the window.

Kortz Center Heist — Bug Fixes Applied This Week

Alongside the regular weekly content, Rockstar released another batch of fixes for The Kortz Center Heist this week specifically addressing stealth and detection issues that players reported during the finale. If you encountered problems with guards detecting you through walls or the finale triggering early during a stealth approach, this patch addresses those specific complaints.

The timing matters for players who abandoned stealth runs because of those bugs and switched to the loud approach by default. Stealth is generally faster and cleaner on the Kortz Center Heist than the loud alternative, so it’s worth attempting again this week now that the detection issues have been addressed.

What’s Still Running From Previous Weeks

GTA Online weekly update August 6 2026 Panther Statue returns

The Grotti Veleno GT remains free for GTA+ members through August 12 at the Vinewood Car Club. This is the final week of that offer before it moves to general sale only. GTA+ members who haven’t claimed it yet should do so before the reset.

The HSW Time Trial this week for next-gen players is active through August 12 with the standard completion reward structure.

The GTA 6 Context

Today’s weekly update drops on the day Tom Henderson predicted GTA 6 Trailer 3 might arrive, and the day before Take-Two’s August 7 earnings call. No trailer has been released as of this writing.

What is happening is Rockstar maintaining active GTA Online content through the final months before GTA 6 launches November 19. The Panther Statue return, the free GTA$1,000,000 giveaway, and the Summer Heist Event are part of a consistent content cadence designed to keep the GTA Online player base engaged during the transition period.
